Melia Arab Orthodox Society, Jerusalem

The mission of the Melia Arab Orthodox Society is to bring relief and opportunity to the people of the greater Jerusalem area, regardless of race, religion, or gender. They do this by providing medical care and employment opportunities for people in need. Historically the organization is part of the Arab Orthodox movement within the Greek Orthodox Church in Jerusalem. The clinic's main goal is to provide quality medical care to people who normally couldn't afford it. Payments for services are adjusted to the patient's ability to pay. The medical staff includes an on-site x-ray technician, a full-time dentist, and various other specialists. Funding for this society comes from embroidery sales, bakery sales and internet café sales.
