Inaash Association for the Development of Palestinian Camps, Beirut, Lebanon |
Since its inception in 1969, the Association has worked on several projects, including the Embroidery Program, which provides a main source of income for over 450 women in Refugee Camps and helps in preserving Palestinian heritage. They also manage Kindergarten and Youth Centers, which provide pre-school education and after-school programs for approximately 500 children and youth with a healthy and productive outlet from life in the camps. Additionally, there is the Revolving Fund, which supports skilled artisan with small loans to start a business on a "payback" basis, the Old Age Project to support financially needy elderly people by providing subsistence help and medical assistance, a Subsidy Program, which provides assistance to cover the cost of needy childrens' education at INAASH kindergarten. The funding for all of these programs comes from embroidery sales, as well as from some charitable donations.
